Safety Culture

Of our many concerns, none is more important than the safety of our employees. The prevention of injury is a primary responsibility which must be accepted by every employee throughout our organization.

During your safety orientation, we reviewed our general safety guidelines and you received a copy of our Code of Safe Work Practices, which explains in detail the safety procedures you must follow while on the jobsite. Additional safety information will be covered in the CLP Safety & Health Program Summary.

SAFETY & INJURY PREVENTION

We are committed to providing a safe work environment. As a CLP employee, you’re expected to take responsibility for your safety and that of others on the jobsite, and to follow established safety procedures. You will receive regular safety training where you’ll learn helpful safety tips. Safety program information and materials are available in each office.

Dress appropriately

You must wear sturdy long pants (such as jeans), close fitting work shirts or T-shirts and work boots on all jobsites. Torn clothing, T-shirts with offensive messages, sweat pants and shorts are not allowed. Tattoos with offensive wording must be covered. Avoid loose clothing and jewelry. Be sure to cover exposed skin when working in the sun. In addition, you must wear gloves, hard hats, and other personal protective equipment appropriate for the jobsite. If assigned to a customer’s facility, we request that you wear clothing that complies with the office or facility dress code, along with all personal protective equipment necessary for your safety.

Free personal protective equipment (PPE)

Hard hats, gloves, dust masks, earplugs, safety glasses, and other personal protective equipment are provided at your local office. When personal protective equipment becomes worn or defective through use it will be re-issued upon request.
